About The Position

The Casual Dining Wait Staff member provides friendly, efficient service in pizzeria, fast-casual, and other informal dining settings. The role includes greeting guests, explaining menu options, taking and delivering accurate orders, processing payments, maintaining clean and inviting service areas, and working with kitchen and front-of-house team members to create a positive guest experience. This position works in a casual or fast-casual restaurant environment that may include table, counter, takeout, and pickup service. The work is fast-paced and involves frequent interaction with guests and coworkers. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. TRMF is located in Medora, North Dakota, near the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Life Skills Center serves as TRMF’s central operations hub and includes a dining room, fitness center, and spaces for music, studying, learning, prayer, reflection, and social connection. Salary is $8.00 plus tips.

Prolonged periods of standing and walking; ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to perform duties requiring regular talking or hearing; frequent standing, walking, handling or feeling objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Previous restaurant, food-service, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling is preferred.
Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, efficient service throughout their visit.
Explain menu items, ingredients, daily features, available customizations, and beverage options.
Take accurate dine-in, counter, takeout, and pickup orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, modifications, and special requests to appropriate team members.
Serve or deliver food and beverages promptly and verify that orders are complete and accurate.
Monitor tables and guest areas, refill beverages, remove used items, and respond to guest needs.
Prepare checks, process cash and electronic payments accurately, and follow cash-handling procedures.
Package takeout orders, confirm all items are included, and organize orders for guest or delivery-partner pickup.
Assist with basic food and beverage preparation, expo, running food, bussing tables, and other service tasks as assigned.
Maintain clean, sanitized, stocked, and organized dining, counter, beverage, and service areas.
Complete opening, closing, and side-work duties, including dining-room setup and restocking.
Follow food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and responsible beverage-service requirements.
When assigned, verify identification and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
Address guest questions and concerns promptly and involve a manager when appropriate.
Work cooperatively with kitchen, counter, host, service, and management team members during busy periods.
Participate in required training and workplace safety meetings.
Provide guests with enthusiastic and accurate information about relevant events and services.
Build positive working relationships with guests, coworkers, and management consistent with TRMF values.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
