About The Position

The VPK Lead Teacher plans, assesses, and instructs four-year-old children according to each child’s needs and program requirements. The role develops fun, interactive learning experiences and mentors fellow Teachers while supporting children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth. The Lead Teacher oversees classroom management and curriculum implementation and must be knowledgeable about licensing guidelines, company standards, and VPK program requirements. The position also builds relationships with enrolled and prospective families to support children’s achievement and the center’s success.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a CDA, an associate degree or higher in education, or a Florida Child Care Professional Certificate.
• Have experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• Be able to meet state education requirements and the childcare center’s requirements.
• Be able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
