About The Position

Jona is seeking a hands-on VP of Sales to build and lead the company’s next phase of commercial growth. The role owns sales strategy, execution, and the revenue target across healthcare practices, provider groups, strategic accounts, and channel opportunities, while establishing the systems, team, and operating cadence needed to support predictable growth. This is a player-coach position that combines direct selling with team leadership. The VP of Sales will personally source, advance, negotiate, close, and activate important opportunities; coach the sales team; and build disciplined processes for pipeline generation, qualification, forecasting, CRM management, territory design, and sales execution. The role partners closely with the Founder and CEO and teams across marketing, clinical, science, product, customer success, and operations. The position is remote in the US and involves regular travel.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of B2B sales experience, including meaningful leadership experience in health tech, diagnostics, lab testing, digital health, or an adjacent healthcare category.
  • Interest in a player-coach role involving hands-on selling and building the sales function.
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious revenue targets in a high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated success selling complex, consultative solutions to healthcare executives, clinicians, practices, enterprise customers, and/or strategic partners.
  • Experience building a sales function, team, or repeatable process in an early-stage or scaling company.
  • Experience leading or managing a small team.
  • Strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, CRM systems, performance metrics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to translate complex science and technology into clear customer value.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High ownership, sound judgment, and comfort working in a fast-moving, remote-first environment with limited bureaucracy.
  • Genuine interest in personalized health, the microbiome, and building products that help people make better-informed health decisions.
  • Experience in a small startup or company environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing network across functional medicine, concierge medicine, longevity, gastroenterology, wellness, or cash-pay healthcare.
  • Experience scaling both direct sales and strategic distribution or channel partnerships.
  • Experience with B2B2C, consumer health, at-home testing, or SaaS-enabled healthcare products.

Responsibilities

  • Own revenue strategy and execution across priority segments, geographies, and channels, including goals, resource allocation, and accountability.
  • Personally source, advance, negotiate, close, and activate high-value, multi-stakeholder opportunities; model effective discovery, demonstrations, follow-up, and deal management.
  • Establish pipeline generation, qualification, CRM hygiene, forecasting, territory design, sales stages, and weekly operating rhythms.
  • Grow adoption and test utilization among concierge medicine, functional medicine, longevity, GI, wellness, and other cash-pay healthcare practices.
  • Develop relationships with senior clinical, operational, and commercial decision-makers at provider networks, health-tech companies, labs, and distribution partners.
  • Improve the effectiveness of the current organization and mentor and coach the sales team.
  • Partner with marketing, clinical, science, and product teams to develop credible messaging, demos, case studies, and objection handling based on Jona’s technology and evidence.
  • Turn customer and market feedback into recommendations for pricing, packaging, product priorities, implementation, and the commercial roadmap.
  • Partner with customer success and operations on onboarding, utilization, renewals, and account growth.
  • Represent Jona with customers, partners, industry leaders, and the broader market at conferences, events, and executive-level conversations.
