About The Position

Science & Humans (S&H) is a health tech company bridging the gap between hormone health and real-world care. Our mission is to deliver personalized, technology-enabled solutions that empower individuals and practitioners to manage hormone and longevity-related conditions. Through e-commerce, telehealth, AI-driven clinical decision support, and advanced analytics, we’re transforming traditional healthcare into proactive, personalized care, at scale. As VP of Finance, you will serve as the strategic financial leader and operational anchor for Science & Humans during an inflection point in our journey, guiding the business through its scale-up from Series A toward Series B and beyond. This role combines capital strategy, institutional fundraising readiness, Board-level partnership, and hands-on ownership of core accounting, FP&A, cash management, reporting, payroll, compliance, and financial controls. You will be a trusted co-pilot to the CEO, CHRO and leadership team, helping translate clinical and commercial complexity into data-driven financial execution.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, with demonstrated success in a high-growth, scaling or entrepreneurial organization.
  • Experience leading or substantially supporting financing rounds, managing investor diligence, and building financial documentation and data rooms.
  • Proven ability to build financial infrastructure, including FP&A models, accounting close processes, financial controls, cash management and payroll oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with CEOs, executive teams, Board directors, investors and external advisors with credibility and transparency.
  • High business acumen—able to translate complex operational, healthcare or SaaS metrics into clear commercial insights and actionable strategy.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Consumer health, digital health or healthcare experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Pharmacy, Consumer Health B2C and/or Enterprise Health B2B2C is preferred
  • SaaS experience is an asset.
  • Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and/or cross-border financial environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital-raising strategy in partnership with the CEO; build financial documentation, data rooms, and narrative models to support institutional financing rounds and investor diligence.
  • Own Board-level financial reporting, investor updates, and stakeholder communications. Confidently represent the company’s financial story, unit economics, growth trajectory, risks and outlook to institutional investors and Board directors.
  • Manage cash runway, debt facilities, banking relationships and treasury operations; advise on capital structure and financing alternatives to maintain capital efficiency and support sustainable growth.
  • Partner closely with the CEO, CHRO and executive team to steer growth strategy, resource allocation, investment decisions, pricing models and operational budgeting.
  • Build dynamic, multi-scenario financial models, cash-flow projections and long-term forecasts that reflect customer acquisition costs (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), cohort performance and channel/product profitability.
  • Define and track core financial and operational KPIs and company OKRs across clinical, product and commercial business units to support disciplined decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash efficiency and overall financial performance.
  • Maintain visibility into liquidity and financial runway, proactively identifying risks and recommending actions to protect the company’s financial position.
  • Oversee the end-to-end finance function, including general ledger, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, FP&A, AP/AR, revenue recognition, tax and compliance.
  • Maintain full ownership of payroll, ensuring accurate and timely execution for employees and independent contractors, with appropriate processes and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax obligations, internal controls, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external accounting firms, auditors, tax specialists, legal advisors and banking partners.
  • Evaluate, implement and optimize scalable ERP, billing, FP&A and automation tools appropriate for a rapid-growth scale-up.
  • Establish financial governance and approval frameworks that protect company assets without slowing operational velocity.
  • Recruit, mentor and scale the finance and accounting function as company headcount and operational complexity expand.
