For more information, visit www.media-sense.com The Role This role is for a VP, Media Strategy, based in North America. This role will report into the North American President. This person will advise some of the world's most prominent brands on their media strategies, investments and operating models, and combine strategic vision, proposition development, industry engagement & hands-on client leadership. They will bring a strong perspective on how the future of media in North America is evolving, how marketers can create competitive advantage in the marketplace, and which advisory propositions will be most resonated in this dynamic market The role itself will involve a range of activities including: Engage at the C-level, providing strategic counsel to clients on media strategy, investment, organizational design, agency relationships, data and tech Develop and drive strategic perspectives around the role and influence of media in driving value & impact for the modern marketing organization Generate and lead business development opportunities with existing clients and new prospects Establish key industry relationships (agencies, vendors, platforms, trade bodies) to inform proposition development, thought leadership and unlock insights for clients Partner closely with the Media Solutions Lead to ensure strategic recommendations are translated effectively into client engagements and delivery Represent mediasense at industry forums as the definitive independent voice on media strategy in the North American market The Candidate The ideal candidate will be an experienced, senior leader on the cutting edge of modern media. They will have held senior client side or agency (media or full service related) or consulting roles, responsible for navigating senior marketers through transformative challenges across their media ecosystem; strategically, operationally, and commercially. They will have a depth of expertise across the core components of media planning, buying & optimization, while also comfortable talking to the interdependencies of media across data, technology, content, retail, social & measurement. They will be a strong communicator, able to make the complex simple and clear, demonstrate critical thinking in how they diagnose problems and develop solutions, and be the collaborative partner to clients and colleagues alike. Further, successful leaders within mediasense lead by doing, not just directing. The ideal candidate will have the following: 15+ years of experience in media strategy and senior media leadership. Deep domain expertise across US media, and its interdependent disciplines Proven ability to engage and influence at the most senior levels of a client organization Strong, confident communicator (and writer) with high index towards critical thinking Experience operating in a consulting, advisory, or professional services context, or in a client-side media leadership role with a strong advisory orientation Well established and fostered network of senior leaders in the industry Track record of contributing to commercial growth Comfort with complexity and ambiguity, navigating new challenges Ability to role shift based on client and project need including supporting client management and individually creating outputs and deliverables rather than only overseeing
