About The Position

We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Financial Strategy & Operations to lead our financial operations, long-range strategic planning, and commercialization-stage decision-making as we scale a breakthrough in American biomanufacturing. This executive will be a key partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, responsible for building a world-class finance function that fuels the company’s growth, strengthens the organization’s competitive advantage, and accelerates the mission to reshape U.S. chemical manufacturing. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-momentum, innovation-driven organization at a pivotal inflection point. The VP will own FP&A, accounting, treasury, capital strategy, investor relations, and quantitative evaluation of all market, project, and partnership opportunities. This leader will also serve as the architect for future project financing, fundraising, and commercialization modeling—directly influencing the trajectory of our science, our market expansion, and our sustainability impact. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record (10+ years) in senior finance leadership roles within high-growth industries such as biotech, cleantech, advanced manufacturing, energy, or industrial technology.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or project finance strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading financial operations, including FP&A, modeling, treasury, accounting, and investor relations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex information to executives, boards, and external partners.
  • Strong relationship-builder with a collaborative, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment; hands-on, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Build and oversee a best-in-class finance function—including FP&A, accounting, treasury, capital management, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain and continuously improve all financial systems, models, statements, and performance forecasting.
  • Manage third-party accounting partners and ensure accurate, compliant, and audit-ready grant and financial reporting.
  • Develop and execute strategies for project financing, including debt, equity, and hybrid capital.
  • Lead future fundraising efforts, partnering closely with the CEO to secure capital for commercial deployment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, lenders, and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary financial voice to the Board of Directors, preparing board materials and quarterly/annual financial updates.
  • Conduct financial diligence for new markets, M&A opportunities, strategic partnerships, and commercial initiatives.
  • Build and refine financial models that guide long-term strategy, capital allocation, and value creation.
  • Partner with Sustainability and Business Development to quantify, articulate, and validate value proposition.
  • Lead financial structuring and negotiation of offtake agreements and commercial contracts to support revenue generation and de-risk large-scale projects.
  • Monitor and mitigate financial risks across all aspects of the business.
  • Work closely with the CEO and executive team to evaluate new opportunities and drive company-wide strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Legal and BD to structure joint ventures, alliances, and complex commercial agreements.
  • Ensure all financial decisions align with broader company objectives, commercialization milestones, and sustainability goals.
