VP, Business Development

LifeCare AdvocatesMamaroneck, NY
$150,000 - $200,000Hybrid

About The Position

Alder has spent more than 30 years building one of the most trusted aging life care practices in New England and New York. We now have a clear path to extend that model into new markets, and we're hiring the leader who will drive that growth. This is a revenue-accountable role. VP of Business Development owns the strategy and execution for growing high-quality referral volume across our professional partner network (financial advisors, elder law and estate planning attorneys, fiduciaries, physicians, hospital discharge planners, and other key referral sources). You will lead existing Business Development teams in New England and New York, build the infrastructure to scale into new markets, and be the primary architect of how Alder grows. This is a senior leadership role. You will shape how Alder grows, leading business development across all of our markets, owning the strategy, and driving the referral volume that brings more families the support they need.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in business development or sales leadership, ideally in professional services, healthcare, or another relationship-intensive environment where trust is the product.
  • Managed multi-state teams and led or supported geographic expansion.
  • Comfortable being accountable for a number, not just a set of activities.
  • Translates strategy into operational systems without losing the thread of execution.
  • Strong external presence — credible with financial advisors, attorneys, and healthcare professionals — and knows how to build a team that mirrors that.

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the regional strategy for expanding Alder's professional referral network.
  • Identify the highest-value partner segments, build the outreach and relationship systems to reach them at scale, and ensure the team converts those relationships into consistent referral flow.
  • Manage and develop BD teams across New England and New York.
  • Set clear expectations, establish operating rhythms, and build the kind of team culture where strong performers stay and grow.
  • Drive hiring decisions as we expand, ensuring every new market launches with the right people in place.
  • Own the onboarding and development of Alder's BD team — building the training infrastructure, market knowledge, and skills that allow reps to hit the ground running and perform at a high level across all territories.
  • Play a supporting role in Care Manager onboarding as Alder enters new markets, ensuring clinical hires have enough context on the referral landscape to support BD efforts from the start.
  • Own the systems that make the team effective, including CRM configuration and hygiene, pipeline visibility, intake handoffs, SLAs, and reporting.
  • Build infrastructure that scales, not infrastructure that requires you to be in the room for it to work.
  • Be present in the work. Shadow partner meetings, review active opportunities, and give direct feedback.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with materials and language that resonate with sophisticated professional partners.
  • Make sure Alder's value proposition is communicated clearly and consistently.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Flexible work schedules and hybrid work opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Professional development support and continuing education reimbursement
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture focused on employee well-being and growth
