About The Position

This position offers a highly motivated sales professional a fantastic opportunity to develop new business and be a critical contributor in our sales efforts focused on wholesaling Sentinel Group’s retirement plan Record-Keeping and Third Party Administrative services to financial advisors. The successful candidate has a strong network and a demonstrated track record of initiating new direct contacts with advisors and developing those contacts into new prospects. We are looking for innovative thinkers to drive our business, clients and advisor partners forward - someone with customer focus, drive, determination, and the strength of character to challenge the status quo. We are in search of a detail-oriented sales person whose objective is to become the trusted partner for retirement-focused advisors. We want to become the go-to Record-Keeper and Third party Administrator for their book of business. The candidate should understand that he or she will need to develop direct relationships and work through Advisors in engaging Sentinel as their Record-Keeper and Third Party Administrator. Sentinel Group has an excellent reputation, but it is not a national brand. Successful sales people will need to bring a superior knowledge of our products and services in order to educate prospects on why Sentinel is a better choice than more recognized brands.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in B2B sales cycle role preferred but willing to train
  • High level of familiarity with defined contribution and defined benefits retirement plans, and a good understanding of relevant ERISA regulations and plan design
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and overall ability to learn and use different software packages.
  • Familiarity with relevant sales tools, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and internal software.

  • ASPPA QPFC, QPFA or QKA designation

Responsibilities

  • Ability to build out a new territory from prospecting, sourcing, establishing new financial advisor channels and maximizing existing partner/referral relationships.
  • Ability to build strong ecosystem partnerships and business referral relationships to share the values and behaviors of Sentinel Group
  • Becoming a trusted advisor relationship, and within the prospect’s decision-making process, to effectively gain successful business and long-term client relationships
  • Consistently work on building a balanced pipeline of target prospects through building trusted relationships with advisors and COI’s, as well as traditional means of prospecting (cold calling, email, phone, LinkedIn, webinars and in person meetings)
  • Understands the differences between high value activities versus low value activities
  • Strong understanding of best-fit opportunities and decision-making personas will help to qualify or disqualify quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant sales tools, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and internal software.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to seek perpetual growth and celebrate the process.
