About The Position

LifeWise Academy is seeking volunteers to assist children in its LifeWise classes. LifeWise Academy is a Bible-based character education program that exists to reach public school students with the gospel during school hours. Volunteers model positive behavior and godly character, develop relationships with students, assist with classroom management and activities, escort students to the restroom, and chaperone children to and from classes as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

• Have a mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Actively participate in and be committed to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Model godly character and set an example for classroom behavior.
• Actively listen during Bible lessons and participate in classroom activities.
• Learn students’ names and get to know them; interact with students during activities by sitting with them or walking around the room.
• Assist teachers with classroom management when needed or directed, including supporting students who behave inappropriately, reminding them of expected behavior, and relocating them to another desk if the behavior continues.
• Help with classroom activities by distributing supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons, Bibles, and papers; help lead class games; and provide extra help to students with special needs.
• Escort students to the restroom and wait outside while they are inside.
• Chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
