About The Position

LifeWise Academy is seeking volunteers to assist children in its Bible-based character education program, which reaches public school students with the gospel during school hours. Volunteers model positive behavior and godly character, build relationships with students, help manage classrooms and activities, escort students to the restroom, and chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

• Have a mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Actively participate in and be committed to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Model positive behavior and godly character, set an example for classroom behavior, listen actively during Bible lessons, and participate in classroom activities.
• Develop relationships with students by learning their names, getting to know them, and talking with them during activities.
• Assist with classroom management as needed or directed, including supporting teachers with students who behave inappropriately, reminding students of desired behavior, and relocating students if inappropriate behavior continues.
• Help with classroom activities by distributing supplies, helping lead games, and providing extra help to students with special needs.
• Escort students to the restroom and wait outside while they are inside.
• Chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
