About The Position

LifeWise Academy is seeking volunteers to assist children in its Bible-based character education classes, which reach public school students with the gospel during school hours. Volunteers model positive behavior and godly character, build relationships with students, support classroom management and activities, escort students to the restroom, and chaperone students to and from classes as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

• Have a mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Actively participate in and be committed to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Model godly character and set an example for classroom behavior.
• Actively listen during Bible lessons and participate in classroom activities.
• Learn students’ names and get to know them; interact with students during activities.
• Assist teachers with classroom management as needed or directed, including reminding students of desired behavior and relocating them if inappropriate behavior continues.
• Distribute classroom materials such as pencils, pens, crayons, Bibles, and papers.
• Help lead class games and provide extra help to students with special needs.
• Escort students to the restroom and remain outside while they are inside.
• Chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
