About The Position
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, opening in September 2026, is dedicated to illustrated storytelling. Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum's collection features works by a wide range of artists, comic art legends, and photographers. It also houses the Lucas Archives. The museum, designed by Ma Yansong with landscape by Mia Lehrer, is located in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus. Candidates for volunteer opportunities are selected on an as-needed basis, and submission of an application does not guarantee placement. Volunteers must attend an orientation and will be screened for placement and eligibility. The program is based on commitment, dependability, and a desire to serve, without regard to race, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, or any other legally protected basis. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The museum's mission is to inspire and connect people through the exploration of visual stories and their influences in society. Its values include putting people first, fostering inspiration, and promoting collaboration.
