Hospice Volunteer (Unpaid)
About The Position
BAYADA Hospice is seeking compassionate and driven individuals to join our team as Volunteers in Hudson, Bergen, Union, Passaic, and Essex counties. This UNPAID position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of clients and their families facing terminal illness and end-of-life care. As a Volunteer, Hospice Services, you will be a vital part of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG), providing essential support through home management assistance, emotional support, and other supportive tasks. Your contribution will help ensure our clients receive care with compassion, excellence, and reliability, while also supporting our BAYADA caregivers.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English
- Meet all state requirements for volunteers, where applicable
- Meet the BAYADA requirements and state regulations for the discipline, if providing professional services
Responsibilities
- Assistance with administrative support at the hospice office
- Assistance with hospice events such as memorial services, patient celebrations, and legacy projects
- Assistance with home management tasks
- Providing companionship and friendship to clients
- Providing caregiver relief
- Specialty areas: Veteran Support, Reiki, Massage, Pet Therapy, Craft Volunteer, End of Life Doula
- Sharing special talents, such as music or art
- Providing assistance as a transport escort, as needed
- Assisting with clerical work and other office tasks
- Memorial Service Planning
- Bereavement support to loved ones
