About The Position

Ho‘okele Home Care is seeking a compassionate, organized, and engaging Volunteer Training Director to lead volunteer training and onboarding, develop training materials, and provide ongoing support to volunteers. The role involves teaching, relationship-building, program coordination, and creating a positive volunteer experience. The position is full time, hybrid (remote and in-office), and involves 20–40 hours per week. It is grant funded and contingent upon funding. The role is based in Oahu, Hawaii.

Requirements

• Strong training, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to develop engaging educational materials and training programs.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, clients, and team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and training or scheduling software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while staying organized and responsive.
• A compassionate, supportive approach to working with volunteers and the individuals they serve.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in training, education, workforce development, volunteer coordination, or program management preferred.
• Experience working with older adults, healthcare organizations, or nonprofit programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive volunteer training programs.
• Create and update training materials, presentations, handbooks, and educational resources.
• Lead volunteer orientation, onboarding, and training.
• Coordinate volunteer scheduling, assignments, and client matching.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and training documentation.
• Provide ongoing coaching, education, and support to volunteers.
• Monitor participation, training compliance, and service quality.
• Promote volunteer engagement, recognition, and retention.
• Support continuous improvement of the volunteer program.
