About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Vocational Education Instructor, Noncredit - Nonprofit Management. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for the 2026 Academic School Year. When there is an opening at one of the LACCD colleges, the hiring location will begin their review process with the applicants in this pool. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Noncredit Vocational Education Department members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final determinations of part-time assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability. Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR Associate degree; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.
  • Verification of Employment letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates industry knowledge, skills and abilities in areas such as Management Experience of a Nonprofit, Community-Based Organization; Social Entrepreneurship; Organizational Development; Leadership Development and Personnel Management; Strategic Planning & Program Evaluation; Framing Media and Marketing Campaigns; Civic Engagement, Community Organizing & Public Affairs; Financial Planning, Fundraising, Grant Writing, & Resource Development; Community Planning & Economic Development; Program, or Service, Design & Delivery; Event Planning, Coordination & Implementation; Violence Prevention & Intervention Services; Successful Advocacy for Vulnerable Populations.
  • Letter of interest that describes the applicant’s interest in the position and details why the applicant is a good fit for the position.
  • Current resume that summarizes how the applicant meets the qualifications of the position.
  • Contact information for three (3) professional references.
  • Copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts; if invited to interview, candidate should be prepared to provide official transcripts.
  • All degrees must be granted by an accredited college or university in the United States. Transcripts from a foreign institution must be submitted with an approved evaluation of equivalency from a foreign evaluation service approved by California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.

Benefits

  • Salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $81.81 per standard hour.
