About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Vocational Education, Information Technology, Noncredit courses. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Noncredit Education Department members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final determinations of part-time Vocational Education Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR Associate degree in any discipline; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.
  • Verification of Employment letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates industry knowledge, skills and abilities in areas such as Robotics, Programming, or Social Media.
  • Verification of Experience Letters must be on company letterhead stationery indicating: Dates of employment, Position title, State if experience was full or part-time, Description of related duties performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with demonstrated certification in Canvas or other online modalities may be given preference.
  • Bilingual Certificate - California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Possession of a California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of Information Technology related courses within the Vocational Education Noncredit discipline.
  • Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
  • Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
  • May be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning.

Benefits

  • Salary begins at $81.81 per standard hour.
