About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Vocational Education, Information Technology, Noncredit courses. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Noncredit Education Department members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final determinations of part-time Vocational Education Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR Associate degree in any discipline; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.
Verification of Employment letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates industry knowledge, skills and abilities in areas such as Robotics, Programming, or Social Media.
Verification of Experience Letters must be on company letterhead stationery indicating: Dates of employment, Position title, State if experience was full or part-time, Description of related duties performed.

Nice To Haves

Applicants with demonstrated certification in Canvas or other online modalities may be given preference.
Bilingual Certificate - California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Possession of a California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.

Responsibilities

Teach a range of Information Technology related courses within the Vocational Education Noncredit discipline.
Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
May be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning.
