About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Manufacturing Technology. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for potential openings at LACCD's nine colleges for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Manufacturing Technology/Numerical Control and Tool Department members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final determinations of part-time Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Requirements

  • Any Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience OR Any Associate degree and six years of professional experience
  • A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • COVID 19 VACCINATION: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees’ policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of courses within the Numerical Control and Tool & Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
  • Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.

Benefits

  • Salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $89.72 per standard hour
  • Office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments
  • Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
