About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in the Vocational Education – Nanny/Childcare Training Program. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Final determination of assignment is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
OR Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Nice To Haves

Nanny Certification
Ability to deliver instruction in Spanish or Armenian.

Responsibilities

Teach a wide variety of courses including Nanny Training: Child Growth, Development and Learning; Nanny Training: Child Health and Nutrition; and Nanny Training: Positive Relationships and Guiding Behavior.
Promote and engage an inclusive educational environment that supports student learning.
Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
