About The Position

The Vitamin/HBA Clerk works in Sprouts Farmers Market’s Vitamin Department, helping customers discover supplements and vitamins and make healthy choices. The role focuses on providing prompt, friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment. The clerk maintains department displays, accurately prices merchandise using stamps, markings, shelf tags, or signs, and uses product knowledge to answer customer questions and provide education within appropriate parameters. The clerk stays familiar with department events and seminars, shares information about weekly ad items, and directs customers to products throughout the store. Other related duties may be assigned. Team members under 18 may not perform specified tasks, including using ladders, operating powered equipment or compactors, using knives other than safety cutters, or working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing, flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday; lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches for up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds that requires up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
Create and maintain department displays.
Accurately price merchandise by stamping, marking, or placing shelf tags and signs.
Use supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters.
Stay familiar with upcoming and current department events and seminars.
Share knowledge of weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
