Vitamin/HBA Clerk
About The Position
The Vitamin Clerk supports customer satisfaction in Sprouts Farmers Market’s Vitamin Department by providing prompt, friendly, knowledgeable service. The role involves maintaining displays and accurately pricing merchandise with stamps, markings, shelf tags, and signs. Clerks use their vitamin and supplement knowledge to answer customer questions and provide education within appropriate parameters, stay familiar with department events and seminars, share information about weekly ad items, and direct customers to products throughout the store. The position is in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment.
Requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a flexible, changing schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Show mutual respect for others and maintain a high level of ethics consistent with Sprouts’ culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
- Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
- Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
- Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
- Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday; lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for distances up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
- Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly, knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
- Create and maintain department displays.
- Accurately price merchandise using stamps, markings, shelf tags, and signs.
- Use vitamin and supplement knowledge to answer customer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters.
- Stay familiar with upcoming and current department events and seminars.
- Share information about weekly ad items and direct customers to products throughout the store.
- Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
