About The Position

The Lead Visual Merchandiser arranges and maintains attractive visual presentations throughout the store, including in windows, on ledges, shelves, and fashion panels, and leads the team in doing so. The role may follow a floor plan to re-merchandise areas for special events or seasonal changes and performs other duties as assigned. The position partners with Store Management to execute visual merchandising priorities, supports merchandising and event decisions, obtains and follows seasonal, monthly, and weekly directives, and develops creative ideas relevant to monthly trends and My Macy’s Big Ideas while meeting budget goals. The Lead Visual Merchandiser participates in the black box process and pre-planning, maintains customer readiness and accessibility standards, and helps create a clean, safe, inclusive, and easy-to-shop environment. The role communicates company, store, and departmental objectives to the visual team, models exemplary service, and leads the team in providing an outstanding shopping experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of merchandise presentation or visual presentation experience.
Effective written and verbal skills, including the ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Vision and creativity, with basic knowledge of art, design, fashion, and interior decoration.
Ability to collaborate and function as a team leader.
Strong sense of urgency.
Comfort using computers and frequent use of RF equipment.
Ability to perform the stated physical requirements, including lifting or moving at least 30 pounds, standing for at least two consecutive hours, and moving, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Responsibilities

Arrange and maintain attractive visual presentations in store windows, on ledges, shelves, and fashion panels, and lead the team in doing so.
Partner with the Store Management team to execute visual merchandising priorities aligned with the store.
Influence store decisions affecting merchandising and event execution.
Use the portal to obtain seasonal, monthly, and weekly execution directives and promotional setup direction.
Research and present creative ideas relevant to monthly Trend and My Macy’s Big Ideas, ensuring projects meet budget goals.
Participate in the black box process with the Store team and respond to required visual actions intended to drive positive sales results.
Maintain customer readiness, accessibility, and a clean, neat, easy-to-shop store environment.
Promote a positive, inclusive work environment focused on internal and external customer service and safety.
Model exemplary service and lead the visual team in providing an outstanding shopping experience.
Clearly communicate company, store, and departmental objectives to the visual team.
Work with all levels of store management.
Participate actively in pre-planning.
Follow floor plans to re-merchandise areas for special events or seasonal changes as needed.
