About The Position

The new student will investigate selective interface reactions via atomic layer deposition-like experiments in commercial and custom vacuum tools. The student will perform in situ characterization of the deposition process as well as ex situ characterization of the resulting interfaces including but not limited to spectroscopic ellipsometry, infrared spectroscopy, and calorimetry. The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States. Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.

Requirements

  • At least an undergraduate physical sciences education.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

  • Skills and experience in materials science and chemistry laboratories.
