Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking a Visiting Instructor for the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty appointment for an educator committed to teaching excellence, student engagement, and professional service. The role will primarily support instructional needs across the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), and Doctor of Social Work (DSW) programs. Responsibilities include teaching on the Boca Raton and Davie campuses, as well as in online environments. The position emphasizes contributing to a collaborative, student-centered academic community that values teaching innovation, interdisciplinary engagement, and community partnerships. The successful candidate will mentor students, participate in service activities, and collaborate with faculty and staff to support program growth and student success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality instruction across diverse learning modalities and populations, contributing to the School's mission and strategic priorities. This is a 12-month visiting position from August 8, 2026, to August 9, 2027. The Sandler School of Social Work is part of FAU's College of Social Work and Criminal Justice, serving over 500 BSW and 400 MSW students. It also offers Florida's first DSW program. The School is known for its academic programs, interdisciplinary collaborations, research, and community partnerships, addressing complex social challenges. It houses several centers and institutes focused on child welfare, aging, well-being, and integrated recovery and wellness studies. The School is committed to fostering an engaging academic environment that supports innovation in teaching, experiential learning, student mentorship, and community impact.
