About The Position

The Department of Philosophy at Oklahoma State University seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor, with a start date of August 2026. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Philosophy or a closely related field conferred before the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Evidence of successful in-person and online teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Typical teaching load is 3 classes per semester for Visiting Assistant Professors.
  • Some committee work.
  • Develop and teach concurrent courses aimed at high school students taking logic and critical thinking for college credit.
  • Must be able teach online and in-person versions of logic and critical thinking.
