About The Position

The Department of Molecular Biosciences (MBS) at the University of South Florida invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction. This is a non-tenure earning appointment for the Fall 2026 semester, beginning August 7, 2026, and concluding December 19, 2026. There is no research component associated with this role. The hiring salary is $25,000 for the Fall 2026 semester. The Department is seeking an Instructor to manage upper division laboratory courses, specifically Cell Biology (10 sections of PCB3023L – Cell Biology laboratory) and General Genetics (14 sections of PCB3063L – General Genetics Laboratory), and to teach a large enrollment lower-division lecture course (BSC2010 – Cellular Processes). The ideal candidate will possess broad training and an engaging personality to support laboratory and classroom experiences for undergraduates. The Department typically offers approximately 24 sections of these upper division laboratory courses in the Fall semester, which are taught by graduate teaching assistants. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and graduate students to implement the department's pre-prepared laboratory course curricula.
