About The Position
The Biology Department at Carthage College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology position in Biology with a focus on Cell Biology starting August 15, 2026. The successful candidate will join an expanding Biology Department to teach courses in Introductory Biology, Advanced Cell Biology and as well as other upper-level biology courses based upon their area of expertise.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biology
- Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
- Commitment to innovative development of curriculum or pedagogical practices
- Demonstrated potential for successful undergraduate biology instruction
- Enthusiasm for educating students from widely varying backgrounds
- Background screening
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Introductory Biology
- Teach Advanced Cell Biology
- Teach other upper-level biology courses based upon their area of expertise
