About The Position

Dutch is seeking experienced veterinarians to provide telemedicine care as independent contractors. The role is fully remote and offers flexible scheduling, clinical autonomy, and pay per consultation. Veterinarians connect with pet parents through video and asynchronous messaging, using Dutch’s digital platform, in-house EMR, and AI-assisted SOAP notes. The position has no set hours; veterinarians who thrive in the role typically offer 10–15 hours per week, with a preference for evening and/or weekend availability. Support is provided by the Clinical Director, Vet Support team, and Dutch’s clinical leadership team.

Requirements

• Graduated from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completed requirements to practice in the United States.
• Hold an active license in one or more states where Dutch operates.
• Hold a license in good standing, with no malpractice or disciplinary actions.
• Have at least 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience.
• Have a quiet, professional space and reliable internet for video consultations.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bring a collaborative, compassionate approach to care.
• Be comfortable using telehealth tools and managing consultations independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual consultations with pet parents through video and asynchronous messaging.
• Review medical histories, symptoms, and treatment concerns shared through Dutch’s digital platform.
• Establish a valid VCPR when required and determine whether telemedicine is appropriate for each case.
• Provide evidence-based treatment recommendations, including prescriptions when clinically appropriate.
• Communicate clearly, compassionately, and carefully in every interaction.
• Thoroughly document all encounters using Dutch’s EMR.
• Collaborate with Dutch’s clinical leadership team as needed.
