About The Position

University of Utah Health is seeking a patient-focused Virtual Care Registered Nurse to provide and manage nursing services remotely using audio and visual telecommunications technology. The role assesses patients, facilitates remote examinations, completes documentation, and arranges follow-up care. Nurses also use sensor technology and peripheral devices—including blood pressure monitors, scales, glucose testing equipment, EKGs, and dermascopes—to support patient care. This is a hybrid position requiring in-office days. The position may be filled at multiple career levels according to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skills. Placement and compensation are determined at the time of offer based on assessed competencies, experience, and alignment with the applicable level requirements. Additional certification, education, and experience requirements may apply at higher levels. At Nurse Level 2 (N2), an independent practitioner manages routine patient care and escalates more complex clinical needs as appropriate. At Nurse Level 3 (N3), a confident practitioner manages typical patient complexity independently, anticipates needs, and adapts care to clinical variations. At Nurse Level 4 (N4), an advanced clinician leads complex cases and serves as a clinical resource and mentor to other nursing staff.
