About The Position

The VIP Birthday Party Host works with the VIP Experiences team and other areas of the Commercial team to deliver high-quality guest service and memorable experiences at LEGOLAND California Resort. The role includes engaging with guests, hosting events, assisting with VIP builds, and bringing LEGO creativity to guest experiences. Duties may include checking in guests for VIP Experience builds, serving as a build assistant, hosting birthday parties, setting up and breaking down corporate events, and supporting other commercial duties as needed. The host supports guest flow and safety at experiences and events, helps create engaging guest interactions, and represents the resort in accordance with its Guest Obsession service expectations. The role involves collaborating with the Guest Excellence team, keeping current on LEGO models, attractions, and resort experiences, building rapport with VIP groups, and using knowledge of the resort and LEGO to create enjoyable experiences. Hosts may cross-train in Admissions and Guest Services and support other areas of VIP Experience or the Commercial department. The position requires flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, and some shifts may occur at unsociable hours. Work takes place in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces, including exposure to wet or humid conditions. Physical demands include prolonged standing and walking, moving tables, chairs, and supplies, and lifting more than 40 pounds. The posted pay range is $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
At least one year of previous guest service experience; equivalent experience will be considered.
Enjoy working directly with guests and have experience in a guest-focused role.
Ability to complete tasks in an orderly and timely manner, set workload goals, work independently, and remain self-motivated.
Extensive knowledge of LEGOLAND Parks, the LEGO Group, and Merlin Entertainments, or ability to learn a large amount of information quickly.
Ability to facilitate workshops for groups of 15 or more people.
Ability to communicate information and interact with guests conversationally.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining outstanding service and safety.
Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills for interactions with guests and colleagues.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends; some shifts may occur at unsociable hours.
Ability to travel to and from the resort.
Fine motor skills sufficient to move tables, chairs, and other supplies as needed.
Ability to stand and walk intermittently and for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift more than 40 pounds.
Visual acuity sufficient to read detailed material and hearing sufficient to communicate in environments with background noise.

Responsibilities

Provide memorable guest service and support guest flow and safety at experiences and events.

Use LEGOLAND California Resort knowledge, LEGO knowledge, and creativity to deliver engaging guest experiences.
Check in guests for VIP Experience builds and serve as a build assistant.
Host LEGOLAND California birthday parties.
Assist with setup and breakdown of corporate events.
Cross-train in Admissions and Guest Services.
Support other duties and areas of the VIP Experience or Commercial department as required.
Help facilitate workshops for groups of 15 or more people.
Perform work safely and provide outstanding service without compromising safety.
