About The Position

Galaxy Digital is seeking a collaborative, strategic leader with deep hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering and infrastructure automation. The Vice President will set the vision for an enterprise automation roadmap while remaining technically capable of working directly with code. The role treats infrastructure as a product, with a focus on reliable automation workflows, complex hybrid environments, self-service platforms, engineering velocity, and system stability. The position leads a specialized SRE team responsible for automation platforms and the systems they interact with. It establishes infrastructure-as-code standards, leads configuration and image-management strategies across Windows, Linux, and ESXi, and ensures automation platforms are observable and dependable. The role also drives the automated lifecycle of physical and virtual assets, develops custom tooling, collaborates across the Datacenter team, optimizes virtual-environment performance, and mentors SREs.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps, specifically focused on infrastructure automation at scale.
  • Deep proficiency with Terraform, including providers, modules, and state management, and Ansible, including roles, playbooks, and Tower/AWX.
  • Hands-on experience creating images with tools such as Packer, Ansible, or SCCM to build standardized, hardened Windows and Linux images in hybrid environments.
  • Strong experience managing and automating VMware platforms such as vSphere/vCenter and cloud providers such as Azure and AWS.
  • High-level scripting skills in Python, Go, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana to monitor infrastructure health and automation telemetry.
  • Good understanding of network topology and design, and experience with platforms such as Juniper Networks or Palo Alto.
  • Strong mastery of Git, including branching strategies and PR workflows, and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Ability to manage, troubleshoot, and tune performance for both Windows Server and Linux.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience that includes notable periods of team leadership and/or management.
  • Experience with IAM platforms such as Entra ID, Active Directory, and Okta.
  • Experience with block- and object-based storage solutions hosted on-premises, such as HP Alletra, EMC, or DDN, or in the cloud, such as S3 or Azure Blob.
  • Storage backup and disaster recovery administration and management with Commvault or Veeam.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a specialized SRE team focused on designing, deploying, and maintaining automation toolsets and the systems they interact with.
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure-as-code standards for consistent, repeatable, and secure deployments across the infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Lead automated configuration and state-management strategy, optimizing Ansible playbooks and Packer image pipelines for Windows, Linux, and ESXi platforms.
  • Manage monitoring and health of automation platforms, implementing SLIs and SLOs to support high availability and performance.
  • Drive the automated lifecycle of physical and virtual assets, from template creation and deployment through patching, scaling, and decommissioning.
  • Lead development of custom scripts and internal providers using Python, Go, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Collaborate with the Datacenter team and facilitate workflows and needs across the team.
  • Analyze system behavior and resource utilization in virtual environments to optimize automated deployment performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and career mentorship to SREs and foster an automate-first culture of continuous improvement.
