Vice President, Sales

Vessel Technologies•New York, NY

About The Position

Vessel is a New York City-based technology company reinventing how buildings are designed, manufactured, and built. Its first product, Calypso, is a prefabricated apartment building designed to bring together design, engineering, precision manufacturing, and technology. The company’s mission is to help address the housing crisis and give people the opportunity for an extraordinary life. The Vice President, Sales will work directly alongside a Vessel Division Head to convert developer interest into signed building contracts. This is a commercial leadership role focused on introducing developers to a new approach to apartment buildings and demonstrating how Calypso can change the economics of their businesses. The role combines commercial judgment, analytical rigor, technical curiosity, and a strong focus on customer needs. The VP, Sales owns the sales process from qualified opportunity through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution. The role works with design and engineering teams to develop building configurations, site test fits, unit mixes, and yield studies, and collaborates with design, engineering, finance, and fulfillment to ensure proposals are compelling, executable, and commercially sound. The VP, Sales also remains engaged as signed projects move through entitlement and permitting, partnering with the VP Fulfillment until permits are secured and the sale is officially closed. Success is measured by buildings sold, not by meetings or proposals. The VP, Sales is accountable for building a strong pipeline, converting opportunities into signed contracts, developing repeat customers, and helping the division achieve its sales objectives. Sales are credited upon achievement of the required permits. The role offers a base salary of $175,000–$200,000 and a performance-based bonus program with total on-target annual cash compensation of $300,000–$350,000 and uncapped upside for extraordinary results. The employee may also participate in Vessel’s stock option program. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
