About The Position

The Vice President, Workforce Planning plays a key role within Engineering F&BM, driving workforce strategy, headcount planning, and organizational decision support for the engineering organization. This role sits at the intersection of finance, talent, and business strategy, helping leadership make informed workforce investment decisions that align with financial targets, operating priorities, and longer-term transformation objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of financial planning, resource forecasting, organizational structures, and management reporting, along with the ability to translate workforce data into practical recommendations for senior leadership. We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Engineering F&BM team. This role is located in New York.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to translate workforce data into business insights and recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong background in workforce planning, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, or organizational strategy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support workforce planning activities for Engineering, including headcount forecasting, hiring demand, attrition assumptions, and organizational capacity analysis.
  • Partner with Engineering F&BM leadership to align workforce plans with budget, forecast, and strategic planning cycles.
  • Develop robust headcount and workforce models to support annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and ad hoc scenario analysis.
  • Provide insights on workforce drivers including hiring pipeline, vacancy trends, contractor mix, internal mobility, productivity, and span/layer considerations.
  • Support decision making on role prioritization, location strategy, resourcing trade-offs, and investment allocation across engineering teams.
  • Analyze workforce-related financial impacts, including compensation trends, open roles, run-rate implications, and variance to plan.
  • Collaborate with Finance and the People Team to ensure workforce assumptions are accurate, consistent, and aligned across planning processes.
  • Prepare materials for senior management reviews, including workforce updates, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify structural risks and opportunities in the workforce model, including critical skills gaps, capacity constraints, and efficiency opportunities.
  • Drive enhancements to workforce reporting, governance, and planning processes to improve transparency and decision support.
  • Contribute to broader organizational planning and support leadership decision-making on strategic workforce investments.
  • Operate independently on complex workforce analyses and planning initiatives.
