About The Position

Parsons is looking for an experienced Vice President of Business Development to lead growth strategies for their Critical Infrastructure business in the East Central region. This role will focus on environmental services, design, planning, program and construction management for Transportation, including road & highway, transit & rail, and aviation projects. The position involves coordinating business development activities across various delivery models and client types (public agencies, contractor partners, private entities). The successful candidate will implement customer-focused strategies to increase market share and brand presence, provide leadership for sustainable and profitable growth, and maintain Parsons' leadership in the infrastructure industry. This involves developing the geographic market, partnering with customer/agency leaders, and forming strategic industry alliances. The position can be based in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, or Tennessee and is a combination of virtual and in-office work.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in a related field.
  • 20+ years of broad and diversified experience within the Transportation industry in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
  • Proven leader in client relationship management, strategic planning, strategic teaming, and proposal strategy and negotiation.
  • Ability to leverage key contacts with private organizations and state and municipal agencies within the region to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Ability to develop and leverage internal relationships to implement growth strategies.
  • Ability to use/monitor/manage CRM software to track and drive pursuit activities with a broader team.
  • Support the development of relationships with key team members and client partners.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage key contacts within state and municipal agencies and private organizations to proactively develop project and program opportunities.
  • Build and implement effective sales/marketing initiatives to drive market growth in collaboration with local and regional business line leadership.
  • Support area leadership in the development and management of a client-based strategic plan and client account meetings.
  • Work with Project Manager/Technical Leads on client discovery.
  • Work with business unit marketing leads for industry outreach and market branding.
  • Manage complex win strategies and proposal efforts for conventional and alternative project delivery methods.
  • Report and coordinate with Market Leadership and other Business Development Managers to maximize Infrastructure’s overall growth goals.
  • Develop and advance pipeline projects into viable pursuits.
  • Update and maintain opportunities within Parsons’ CRM.
  • Lead opportunity capture as capture manager for key pursuits.
  • Act as a Parsons representative and seek leadership opportunities in industry organizations (ACECs, ARTBA, MAASTO, SASHTO).
  • Support the growth of service line staff into these organizations.
  • Develop and expand client and industry relations, including supporting service line team member development of key relationships.
  • Attend regional and industry conferences for client interaction and lead development.
  • Support proposal development and presentation preparation.
