Veterinary Technician Supervisor - Day, and Overnight Shifts available in ECC Department
About The Position
Angell Animal Medical Center of Boston is seeking experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisors to join our renowned, state-of-the-art Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) departments. We have openings on both the day and overnight teams. Angell Boston, founded in 1915, is recognized internationally as a leader in animal medicine and is one of the finest veterinary teaching hospitals in North America. We serve the greater Boston and New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and a tertiary referral center. Our Inpatient Department is the hub of this busy non-profit hospital. MSPCA-Angell West, a 24-hour emergency and referral satellite hospital in the west suburbs of Boston, was opened in early 2014. We are an AHAA Accredited Referral Practice. Our hospital is over 20,000 square feet, recently renovated, and located 10 miles west of Boston in Waltham.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience working in emergency veterinary medicine.
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation process for all ECC Service Staff.
- Create work schedules, prepare payroll, and process personnel records for Inpatient Service Staff.
- Must have a working knowledge of complex diseases in order to provide nursing care and develop and train members of the ECC team.
- Assist clinicians in triaging, stabilizing, and providing high-quality nursing care to patients.
- Offer instruction and demonstration to veterinary students, interns, residents, and other technicians.
