About The Position

El Cerrito Veterinary Care is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist. This is a full-time position with a salary of $20 – $25 per hour, depending on experience. The schedule is Tuesday to Friday, offering long weekends. The role focuses on creating a warm, welcoming experience for every client and patient, managing appointments, processing payments, and communicating with the veterinary team. The hospital is a busy general practice focused on compassionate, high-quality care and building lasting relationships.

Requirements

• 1+ year of customer service experience
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
• Basic computer skills
• A genuine love for animals and people

Nice To Haves

• Veterinary clinic experience
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology or software

Responsibilities

• Greeting clients and pets with warmth and professionalism
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments (wellness, vaccines, rechecks)
• Managing appointment flow
• Checking patients in and out with accuracy and care
• Processing payments and clearly explaining invoices
• Communicating with doctors and techs to support patient care
• Keeping the front desk clean, organized, and welcoming
