About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring for Veterinary Receptionists! In this position, you are the first BluePearl Associate that the client sees. You will ensure that each client receives the care and attention that they need. You will need to be able to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients.

Requirements

Veterinary experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement in a fast-paced specialty and emergency setting.
Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
Be a compassionate listener.
Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and responding accordingly.
Ensure complete and accurate client information and ensure client receives accurate information about preparing their pet for the specialty appointment, or ER visit.
Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
