This person is required to lead by example and uphold all policies and procedures. Each team member is responsible for overseeing the daily function and flow of the hospital as it pertains to their department. Attention to detail, a welcoming smile, being neat and organized, able to be cool in emergencies and showing your empathy are all key elements of success. Steele Creek animal hospital also has a top-tier pet rehabilitation facility where pets receive expert care in a soothing environment. Each pet gets a personalized recovery plan. Treatments include water treadmills, laser therapy, acupuncture and more, all designed for comfort and healing. Requirements

  • Must be able to properly lift 40 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to assist pet owners.
  • Great communication skills are a must.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and some holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be energetic and positive.
  • Must be able to lead by example and uphold all policies and procedures.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must be neat and organized.
  • Must be able to remain calm in emergencies.
  • Must be empathetic.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with animals participating in rehab.
  • Willingness to learn new skills in pet rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Take history and assist the veterinarian in the exam room.
  • Present treatment plans and educate clients on follow-up care and medication administration.
  • Assist in surgery.
  • Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside testing.
  • Perform dental cleanings.
  • Care for hospitalized patients and perform their treatments.
  • Cross-train in all areas of the practice.
  • Participate in pet rehabilitation if interested (training provided).
  • Oversee the daily function and flow of the hospital as it pertains to their department.
