About The Position

Red River Animal Emergency Clinic is hiring a part-time Veterinary Hospital Cleaner in Fargo, North Dakota. This role helps maintain the hospital’s cleanliness and safety standards and supports a safe, healing environment for patients, clients, and staff. The position is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, with two 8-hour shifts per scheduled weekend; candidates can expect to work 2–3 weekends per month. Exact start and end times will depend on the selected candidate’s availability and hospital needs. Anticipated hours are approximately 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., though the schedule may change and could include weekends, overnights, and holidays because the hospital operates 24/7. Starting pay is $16 per hour, with potential for more based on experience.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfort working around animals and animal-related messes.
• Ability to follow sanitation and infection control protocols.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and motivated to contribute to a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience, especially in healthcare or veterinary settings; this experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient care areas by sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital, including lobbies, exam rooms, treatment areas, and outdoor dog walk zones.
• Remove trash, sanitize equipment, and respond promptly to spills and animal accidents.
• Manage laundry and restock supplies.
• Assist with inventory.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as patching walls or replacing light bulbs.
• Follow sanitation and infection control protocols.
