Veterinary Customer Service Representative
About The Position
Crete Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, progressive mixed-animal practice in Crete, Nebraska, serving large- and small-animal patients. The clinic offers preventative care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, radiology, ultrasonography, grooming, and boarding. The Customer Service Representative supports the clinic’s reception operations by welcoming clients and patients, answering questions and communications, helping direct client concerns, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins, check-outs, and payments. The role also involves providing compassionate, discreet emotional support to clients during difficult situations and being comfortable with a range of medical outcomes. The position includes opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development. Work may involve unpleasant odors and noises and exposure to animal bites, scratches, waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
Requirements
- Compassionate, calm, team-oriented, able to multitask, and a strong communicator.
- Highly organized and possess computer skills.
- Self-starter with a desire to continue advancing knowledge and skills.
- Able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of veterinary experience as an experienced receptionist or veterinary assistant is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area.
- Greet and welcome clients and patients.
- Answer questions and triage client concerns.
- Answer calls and emails and direct them to the appropriate party for resolution.
- Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow.
- Check clients in and out and process payments.
- Offer friendly, compassionate, and discreet emotional support to clients during times of need.
