Part-time Veterinary Assistant - Overnight
About The Position
Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Partner, is seeking a Part-time Overnight Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Woodstock, MD! We are an Orthopedic, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine specialty practice which focuses on client-centered veterinary care. Schedule: Tuesday Overnight, 6pm-7am Pay: $20.30 - $28.50 / hour This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 / hr. Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 / hr. Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 / hr. The vision for Skylos Sports Medicine was developed in 2015 by husband-and-wife Drs. Requirements
- Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
- Assist with patient evaluation and examination.
- Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
- Run routine lab work.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
- Exercise patients.
- Clean kennels and ensure overall cleanliness of the hospital.
- Provide client education and communication.
