About The Position

This is not your typical Veterinary Assistant position. At Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic, we are searching for a Veterinary Assistant who serves as a true extension of the doctor-client relationship. Someone who loves connecting with people just as much as they love caring for pets. Our ideal candidate is warm, personable, organized, and genuinely enjoys spending time with clients. They understand that exceptional veterinary medicine is not only about patient care; it is also about building trust, educating pet owners, and creating an outstanding client experience from start to finish. This role will primarily function as an Exam Room Veterinary Assistant, helping support doctors throughout appointments while serving as a client care ambassador for the hospital. We are looking for someone who naturally forms relationships, communicates with confidence and compassion, and enjoys providing a concierge-style experience for every client who walks through our doors. This position is heavily focused on client communication, client education, relationship building, exam room support, patient advocacy, follow-up communication, and creating exceptional client experiences. While technical skills are important, we are equally interested in finding someone who can connect with clients, make them feel comfortable, and help strengthen the bond between our hospital and the families we serve. Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic recently relocated into a beautiful, newly renovated facility located in the heart of Manhattan's West Village. Our modern hospital features 5 spacious exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, a dedicated dental suite with 2 dental tables, digital dental radiography, Vetspire cloud-based medical records, advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment, and a comfortable team lounge and workspace. We are proud to be Fear Free Certified, Feline Friendly Certified, and Human-Animal Bond Certified. Our team provides a combination of wellness care, advanced dentistry, surgery, urgent care, and internal medicine support. We are committed to practicing high-quality medicine while maintaining a supportive, positive culture where technicians play an integral role in patient care. What truly makes Abingdon special is our team. Our doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives work closely together, support one another during busy days, and genuinely enjoy collaborating. We believe in mentorship, teamwork, communication, and creating an environment where every team member can continue to learn and grow.
