Veterinary Assistant - Codornices Veterinary Clinic
About The Position
Codornices Veterinary Clinic is seeking a motivated and dependable Veterinary Assistant with previous veterinary experience to support daily hospital operations and provide quality care to patients. This full-time role offers the opportunity to continue developing clinical skills while working alongside an experienced veterinary team. The ideal candidate understands basic patient care and works collaboratively in a busy clinical environment. The schedule is 30–40 hours per week, with Monday–Friday availability required and occasional Saturdays as needed. Compensation is $21–$28 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skill.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
- Basic understanding of animal handling, restraint, and patient care.
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, organized, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
- Monday–Friday availability and availability to work occasional Saturdays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake, rooming, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats during examinations and treatments.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with routine patient care and clinical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and treatment areas.
- Assist with collecting samples and running in-house laboratory tests, as trained and authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment.
- Monitor patients and communicate changes or concerns to the veterinary team.
- Provide friendly, compassionate service to clients and their pets.
- Support the veterinary team with daily hospital operations and other duties as needed.
