About The Position

Codornices Veterinary Clinic is seeking a motivated, dependable, full-time Veterinary Assistant to support daily hospital operations and provide quality care to patients. The role is suited to someone with previous veterinary hospital experience and a foundation in basic patient care who wants to continue developing clinical skills alongside an experienced veterinary team. The position is based in Albany, California, and offers 30–40 hours per week. Monday–Friday availability is required, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Compensation is $21–$28 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skill.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
• Basic understanding of animal handling, restraint, and patient care.
• Comfort working with dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, organized, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• Monday–Friday availability and availability to work occasional Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake, rooming, and preparing patients for examinations.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats during examinations and treatments.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with routine patient care and clinical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and treatment areas.
• Assist with collecting samples and running in-house laboratory tests, as trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment.
• Monitor patients and communicate changes or concerns to the veterinary team.
• Provide friendly, compassionate service to clients and their pets.
• Support the veterinary team with daily hospital operations and other duties as needed.
