About The Position

Modern Animal is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join its growing team in Walnut Creek, California. The role involves supporting veterinary care through medical recordkeeping, laboratory work, radiology, medical calculations, medication logging, cleaning, and collaboration with veterinarians and coworkers. The Veterinary Assistant also communicates discharge instructions to pet owners, performs duties autonomously, and may support local marketing efforts to grow clinic membership. Requirements

• Successfully completed the VTNE.
• Enthusiasm for surgery and anesthesia.
• Forward-thinking and curious.
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate.

• Excellent client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record accurate medical records using appropriate veterinary terminology.
• Complete laboratory work as needed.
• Perform radiology with an understanding of appropriate fields.
• Complete medical calculations as needed.
• Understand veterinary pharmacology.
• Log controlled medications.
• Clean and maintain the clinic as needed.
• Collaborate closely with DVMs and coworkers.
• Communicate discharge instructions to owners.
• Perform duties autonomously.
• Represent the Modern Animal brand, including implementing local marketing efforts to grow clinic membership as needed.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and excellence.
