About The Position

Modern Animal is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join its team in Walnut Creek, California. The role uses the technician’s RVT license to provide veterinary care, support medical procedures, maintain accurate records, communicate with clients, and collaborate with doctors and coworkers. The technician is also expected to contribute to clinic growth and represent Modern Animal’s brand, while supporting a culture of continuous learning, excellence, work/life balance, self-compassion, and a blame- and judgment-free workplace.

The position pays $31.50–$35.70 per hour. Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be included in the compensation package, along with benefits dependent on the position offered.

Responsibilities

• Use an RVT license to its highest level.
• Record accurate medical records using appropriate veterinary terminology.
• Complete laboratory work as needed.
• Perform radiology with an understanding of appropriate fields.
• Complete medical calculations as needed.
• Understand veterinary pharmacology and log controlled medications.
• Perform cleaning and upkeep as needed.
• Collaborate closely with DVMs and coworkers.
• Communicate discharge instructions to owners.
• Perform duties autonomously.
• Represent the Modern Animal brand, including implementing local marketing efforts to grow the clinic membership base as needed.
• Contribute to continuous learning, improvement, and excellence.
• Model the Modern Animal cultural vision by encouraging work/life balance, self-compassion, and a blame- and judgment-free work environment.
