About The Position
Modern Animal is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join its growing team in Walnut Creek, California. The role involves practicing to the highest level of an RVT license, supporting veterinary care and clinic operations, and working closely with doctors of veterinary medicine (DVMs), coworkers, and clients. The technician is expected to contribute to a culture of continuous learning, improvement, compassionate care, work/life balance, and a blame- and judgment-free environment. The role also includes representing the Modern Animal brand and supporting local marketing efforts to grow clinic membership as needed.

- Successfully completed the VTNE.
- Excellent client communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Use an RVT license to the highest level.
- Record accurate medical records using appropriate veterinary terminology.
- Complete laboratory work as needed.
- Perform radiology with an understanding of appropriate fields.
- Complete medical calculations as needed.
- Apply knowledge of veterinary pharmacology.
- Log controlled medications.
- Complete cleaning and upkeep as needed.
- Collaborate closely with DVMs and coworkers.
- Communicate discharge instructions to owners.
- Perform duties autonomously.
- Act as a Modern Animal brand ambassador, including implementing local marketing efforts to grow the clinic membership base as needed.
- Contribute to continuous learning, improvement, and excellence.
- Model the Modern Animal cultural vision by encouraging work/life balance, self-compassion, and a blame- and judgment-free work environment.
