About The Position

WSU Tech is seeking a Veteran Success Coach to support military-affiliated students as they navigate their educational journey. The role focuses on improving student retention, persistence, and program completion through guidance on military-affiliated funding, assistance with enrollment requirements, and connections to resources that help students succeed. The position is in the Military and Veterans Services department, is grant-funded, and has a delayed start. Pay is $23.01 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer systems.
Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with students, employees, and the public.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

Advise military-affiliated students on available funding options and financial aid requirements.
Conduct outreach to prospective and returning students to assist with enrollment documentation and deadlines.
Use student information systems, including Navigate and Banner, to support student recruitment, advising, and retention.
Monitor student progress and assist with initiatives to improve retention, persistence, and completion.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to support student success.
Assist students and families with questions or concerns related to financial aid eligibility and funding.
Maintain accurate records and protect confidential student information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
