About The Position
The Vending Attendant provides vending products and services at a single location. The role involves receiving and stocking merchandise, collecting money from machines, maintaining vending equipment and service areas, and assisting customers. The position is full time, based at Canteen, 7 Greenwood Avenue, Romeoville, Illinois. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, with hours that may vary. The fixed pay rate is $21.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Previous merchandising and stocking experience is preferred, not required.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Receives deliveries of soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snacks, and sundries at the customer's place of business.
- Stocks vending machines, coolers, shelves, and racks; collects stale, rejected, or unsold merchandise.
- Collects money from machines and refills bill and coin changers.
- Records transactions using the appropriate card or electronic device.
- Maintains accountability for cash and product.
- Contacts existing customers to determine whether service is adequate.
- Prepares order forms for food and pastry products.
- Informs regular customers about new products or services.
- Listens to and resolves service complaints.
- Performs routine maintenance and sanitation of machines and keeps the storeroom and vending area clean.
- Sets up merchandise and sales-promotion displays or distributes promotional materials to customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
