About The Position
America's Auto Auction is seeking a meticulous and motivated Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer to inspect and document various types of vehicles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team. The position involves preparing vehicle condition reports, documenting and photographing vehicle details, coordinating reconditioning and repairs, and supporting auction and sales operations. Prior related inspection or appraisal experience is preferred.
Requirements
- Strong written communication skills, including grammar, clarity, and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to accurately interpret inspection data, photographs, and vehicle condition checklists.
- Comfort working with reporting software, digital platforms, and inspection systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work outdoors the majority of the time in all weather conditions.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a rental car damage inspector, insurance appraiser or adjuster, collision or body shop estimator, auction vehicle inspector, dealership vehicle appraiser, or in a related inspection or appraisal role.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and complete accurate cosmetic and mechanical condition reports.
- Document and photograph vehicle details, damages, and safety concerns.
- Coordinate vehicle reconditioning and repair processes.
- Move and stage vehicles to support auction and sales operations.
- Remove Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from vehicles.
- Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean and properly maintain tools and equipment.
- Follow all company safety, compliance, and confidentiality policies.
