About The Position

This role is responsible for accurately inputting vehicle information into the AS400 computer system and preparing vehicles for auction. The clerk will use a handheld computer or headset for data entry and will be responsible for affixing identification stickers, flagging specific vehicle conditions, directing transporters, reporting damage, taking digital images, and providing sale identification codes. A strong commitment to safety and cooperation with safety leadership is expected. The position may also involve assisting with driving vehicles on sale days.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work at a specified Cox location (no remote option).
  • Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test (marijuana drug test is not administered for this position).
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Input accurate vehicle information (VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, options) into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer or headset.
  • Affix barcode/stock number stickers on each vehicle received.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
  • Flag “no key” cars.
  • Direct transporters to proper car drop zones.
  • Report transport damage as needed.
  • Take digital images of vehicles upon receipt.
  • Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person driving the vehicle through the registration/check-in area.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
  • Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities.
  • Assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, as needed.
